Wool Felt

Wool felt is and ideal fabric to use for quilts, blankets, and even some clothing. And, if you sew, there are a number of sites and stores that you can shop at to find wool felt in a variety of beautiful colors.
If you want to find products that are made from wool or wool felt, you can find jackets, vests and dress coats that will look great with both casual and professional clothes at department stores, as well as discount locations like Marshall’s and Kohls. Other stores, like Target and www.overstock.com also have great wool felt fashions that are affordable and great for gifts (since the holidays are coming up).
Furniture that will look great with wool home accents you choose are available on both sites as well. You can also find wool outerwear for camping trips, as well as pants and skirts for a number of occasions.

Making your own clothing or items from wool felt can be easy as well. For instance, if you’re making your own wool skirt, you should take your measurements, or have someone measure you, so that you know just how much fabric to purchase (a little extra may be a good idea). Your waist measurements should be taken right over the pelvis bone where the skirt will sit, and you should measure a couple of inches above your normal size, since you’ll be pinning the skirt in certain places before you sew it. You can purchase the skirt patterns (or any other pattern) either online or at your local fabric store.

You can use chalk to line your fabric, since it will wash off easily and is very noticeable. You should also look at finished models of wool felt skirts, scarves, and jackets to make sure that you’re making the right cuts in the fabric. It’s also a good idea to add elastic to your wool skirt if you don’t want a zipper, to make sure that you’ll have enough space once the skirt or pair of pants is finished.

Using wool felt to make your own home accents as well. Wall hangings, throw blankets, area rugs look great in wool felt, and they are very easy to make, since you’ll be cutting the fabric into one shape for the most part. You can add a variety of colors and additional shapes to your creation once you cut out the main shape, and you can even take your creation to your local fabric store to add accents like borders and tassels.
